ACERRA WASTE-TO-ENERGY PLANT

Project Description

The plant has been built by a Consortium of Companies belonging to Impregilo Group. It covers an area of 9 hectares. Installation and functional lay out is heavily conditioned by plani-altimetric location of the trash holding bunker to which trucks have access. The bunker realized in reinforcing concrete with the following internal size 90 x 18 x 10 m up to a depth of 3 m. from ground level. The bunker is connected with a big covered tipping hall of around 4’500 sqm at 8.40 m from ground level. To allow a proper road network access to the Square, a wide artificial hill has been placed in the area immediately close to the square, completely “green dressed”. The project together with that of the foredeep covering structure, the high quality materials used to cover main structures as well as an accurate disposition of green areas give the plant a marked architectural feature. Ital Edil Costruzioni subcontract has mainly concerned the realization of reinforced concrete structures of turbines trestle and of the relevant infrastructural works.
