“LA NUVOLA”

Project Description

La Nuvola (the Cloud) is the new Congress Centre in Rome, signed by roman arch. Massimiliano Fuksas, one of most representative signature in the world of Architecture. The building is located at EUR. The specific denomination is due to its particular structure: a big transparent crystal parallelepiped within which, as if suspended in the air, there is an auditorium which will host the Congresses to be held in Rome in the coming years. This room on its turn is lodged in an enormous envelope in the shape of cloud, coated over with translucent material able to reflect external light, enlightening during the evening and letting sunrays pass by during the morning.

Ital Edil Costruzioni was committed, as subcontractor, with the realization of reinforced concrete structures of the entire basement of the work as well as the building destined to become a hotel.
